The intimate scene between Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in their forthcoming film ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ has been the talk of the town since a while now. More so as Farhan Akhtar is a married man and Deepika is single after the much publicized break-up with Ranbir Kapoor. Now considering these facts we wonder how Farhan got the go ahead for these scenes from his wife! When we asked Farhan on the reaction of his wife when he told her about the scenes, he calmly informed us, “It wasn’t difficult as we share a great relationship with each other and she understands that it’s a part of my profession. If she would not have understood that it would have been very difficult for me to go ahead with that scene.” Speaking further, director turned actor Farhan Akhtar elucidates, “Before shooting that intimate scene, Deepika and I spent a lot of time together so that we can create a comfort zone between us before executing that scene. Moreover, we shot the scene in the presence of people with whom we were comfortable with.” Promotions for ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ have kicked off very well with the promos and the songs becoming a rage among audience. The film is keenly awaited and is due for release on 26th February, 2010.

Farhan Akhtar demands to feature on magazine cover

If you thought only A-List actors are quirky and hi-maintainance, here's an eye-opener. Farhan Akhtar, who has been on several magazine covers, is one fussy cover boy.

After the actor agrees to have his face grace the cover of the magazine, the editor gets a mail from the actor or one of his PAs with a list of demands. And there are requests for specifics that are not subject to any change. While we understand why he'd want his own make-up person and hair stylist (A specific hair dresser from his wife Adhuna's salon) one fails to understand what stops Farhan from carrying basic things like tissues and water.

That's not all...
The actor even decides how much each of the staff members would be paid. There is also a fee for his driver to drive him to the venue, which is within city limits! Makes you wonder if the chauffeur gets paid at all or if his salary also comes from the publishers' bank accounts.

Akhtar also asks for chocolates Twix and Mars chocolates to be stocked at the studio before he arrives for the shoot. No one will dare ask, 'why not bring your own?' And lest you ruffle the feathers of the temperamental actor, make sure you have mints ready (a particular brand) and water at room temperature. And the final request is for a box of tissues!

I’m amazed to see how natural Kangana is...

After two back-to-back sober-and-thoughtful roles as a wannabe singer and wannabe actor Farhan will for the first time try his hand at comedy in Kartik Calling Kartik. “Not that Kartik is a full-fledged comedy. It’s a thriller. But it has a lot of light funny moments,something that I missed out on in my first two, actually three (the unreleased acting debut in The Fakir Of Venice) starrers on doing any of the light-hearted stuff,” explains Farhan. Strange, considering Farhan is well- known for his sense of humour in real life. “I don’t know why I’ve been cast in such serious parts so far.” Besides Deepika Padukone who plays the female lead Kartik Calling Kartik also stars Shefali Shah and Boman Irani. “We start shooting in April,” informs Farhan who also plans to cut a music album. “But for that I need to take out a chunk of time and devote my full attention to it. Singing is not just a hobby. It never was. I need to pursue it seriously. And not only because of Rock On. I can’t just have someone else composing the songs while I go in the studio and record.” Farhan has just completed his innings as a chat-show anchor on Oye It’s Friday. In the last episode we saw him with cricketer Saurav Ganguly and Kangana Ranaut. “I don’t think I’ve had so much fun before. I’m a huge cricket addict and Saurav was a delight. And I’m amazed by how relaxed and natural Kangana is.”
